In 2003 the Humahuaca Gorge was declared by UNESCO World Heritage in the category of Cultural Landscape. This tour will take you from Salta to Jujuy province to go and visit their villages and charming landscapes and travel nearly 10,000 years of history. From south to north, the Quebrada de Humahuaca is born in Volcan, where the mountains drop steeply and the green hills give way to ocher and brown. When departing from National Road No. 52, we enter Purmamarca, little town with legends and singing people, and has a church dedicated to Santa Rosa de Lima which dates from 1648 and where you can find the internationally known "Cerro de Siete Colores" (Seven Color Mountain). The route follows to Tilcara where we visit its Pucara (ancient Indian fortress), now rebuilt, is a clear demonstration of the splendor of its ancient inhabitants, the tilcaras. To the north, after passing through Huacalera and the Tropic of Capricorn, we reach Uquia, that in his Church has one of the most important collections of the famous "Angels Arcabuceros" emblematic examples Cuzco painting. The town of Humahuaca, heart of the Quebrada, awaits the visitor with natural, historical and cultural attractive. The tour ends in Salta.
